What makes OpenGlide different?
OpenGlide panels move independently rather than remaining joined as a folding chain. You can move individual panels to adjust the opening, then gather them aside when you want more space. Your project's layout determines the exact arrangement.
Can I use it as an everyday door?
Yes. The access door lets you come and go without opening the whole system. You can then move additional panels when you want a wider opening.
How tall can the system be?
OpenGlide door systems are normally designed up to 2.3 metres overall height. Taller openings can incorporate separate fixed or opening glazing above, tailored to the project.
What width can I have?
OpenGlide has no fixed overall width limit. The practical limit is the supporting construction and proposed panel arrangement, rather than a standard maximum system width. For wider openings, particular attention is needed where the panels gather when opened to one side: the structure must be suitable for the combined weight and forces in that area. Available parking space, supporting construction and installation details are considered together. Share your approximate dimensions and any photographs or drawings so we can discuss a suitable arrangement. Larger openings may require assessment by a structural professional before the design is confirmed.
What are the frames made from?
Our current OpenGlide system uses Kömmerling 76MD PVC profiles with internal aluminium reinforcement, providing a robust foundation for a made-to-measure installation. We can also discuss other frame and finish options with you, depending on your project and their suitability for the system. A full aluminium version is currently under development and is not part of the current offering; availability of other options is confirmed individually.
Can I choose integrated blinds?
Yes. Blinds within suitable glazing units are available as an option, allowing you to adjust light and privacy. Glazing compatibility and the final specification are confirmed with your quotation.
Can I add flyscreens?
Yes. Our tailored pleated flyscreens can be fitted with new or existing OpenGlide doors, and with other doors and windows. Choose side-to-side opening, a central meeting point or an offset meeting point. Aluminium frames come in white, grey or black, with standard white or black mesh. Flyscreens carry a two-year standard warranty.
Can the inside and outside be different colours?
Yes. We can discuss different internal and external finishes, including wood-effect options. Available combinations are confirmed with your quotation.
What about insulation and security?
OpenGlide combines closely fitting seals, carefully specified glazing and locking options from GEO, Brisant, Ultion and ERA. Thermal and security performance depend on the complete configuration and installation. Whatever the agreed specification, we stand behind the quality of our materials and workmanship, with careful quality checks and the applicable product warranty.
How do I get a quotation?
